DIY Rustic Headboard

What you'll need:
Five pieces of (somewhat) straight pine boards -- pine is lightweight, don't use oak!
You'll cut these to the size of your bed (Twin, Full, Queen, King -- measure the frame)
One 8' piece of pine wood you can cut in half and put on either side of the frame.
Roofing nails that aren't too long (and a hammer, obviously)
Wood stain (I think I used dark walnut)
Sandpaper (medium and fine)
Clear gloss for over the stain
A rag
A paintbrush

1. Lay it out on the two smaller boards (4' & 4' = 8' Pine Board)
2. Nail together (I hammer one nail into the back on each side of each board, and then hammered two nails into each side of each board on the front).
3. Sanded it down with the medium grit sandpaper and then wiped it off with a rag.
4. Put the first coat of stain all over the front and sides
-- wiped the excess off with a rag 15 minutes after application
WAIT 4 HOURS
5. Sand with fine grit sandpaper and dust off
6. Put a second coat of stain all over the front and sides.
-- wiped the excess off with a rag 15 minutes after application
WAIT 8 HOURS
7. Sand with fine grit sandpaper and dust off
8. Put on clear glossy sealant and let dry for 24 hours
DONE!
